Intelligent Security: Securing the Connected Organisation  

News for release, London, 7 June 2016: Celebrating its 21st edition, Infosecurity Europe, Europe’s largest information security event, will see more companies exhibit than ever before when it opens its doors today at Olympia, London - including three times more new exhibitors than in 2015.   

In addition, Infosecurity Europe’s Conference Programme will host over 160 hours of sessions with over 260 renowned thought-leading speakers presenting in eight conference theatres.  Explorer Levison Wood and The Right Honourable Lord Hague of Richmond will give Opening Keynotes in the event’s Keynote Stage Theatre, the hub of the Infosecurity Europe conference programme, on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.  In addition, the Keynote Stage will feature senior representatives from private and public sector organisations including, Barclays, GSMA, Imperial College London, KPN Telecom, LinkedIn, Marks & Spencer, Metropolitan Police Service, National Trust, Network Rail, Sky, Ticketmaster, Uber, Unilever and the UK Transport Sector.  Three Hall of Fame alumni will present - Chief Research Officer Mikko Hypponen; Security Technologist Bruce Schneier; and Advisor, Europol and Security Researcher, Rik Ferguson.  

Additional highlights across the three days include:

  • UK’s Most Innovative Small Cyber Security Company - competition final (8 June, 13.35-14.25) Taking place on the Keynote Stage, four finalists from the national competition run in collaboration with techUK’s Cyber Connect programme and The Department for Culture, Media & Sport, will pitch their technology/service to the Keynote Stage audience and expert judging panel.  Finalists for 2016 are Assuria, Device Authority, Intruder, and Exonar.  An additional 7 runners up - Sevin, Panaseer, Surevine, Glasswall, Segmantics, 4secure and Torsion Information Security -  will also be exhibiting in Information Security’s UK Cyber Innovation Zone, Level 1, Upstairs Gallery, Olympia
  • Closing Keynote by Kevin Warwick, Emeritus Professor at Reading and Coventry Universities who will look at implant technology, both in terms of new forms of identification, and also in bringing humans and technology together, particularly with regard to the security issues that this presents
  • Recognising his long term contribution to the information security sector, Brian Honan, Founder and CEO of BH Consulting, will be inducted into the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame for 2016.  Established in 2008, the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame celebrates the achievements of internationally recognised information security visionaries, luminaries, practitioners and advocates.  The event will take place at 10:00-10:30 on the Keynote Stage on Thursday 9 June
  • European Security Blogger Awards, celebrating the best use of social media in the information security industry, will be held during Infosecurity Europe on Wednesday 8 June, 17:00 in the Pillar Hall.  The awards ceremony will be conducted by Hall of Fame inductee, Brian Honan.
